The urban environment is a set of specific fundamental conditions created by man and nature within the boundaries of a settlement that affect the level and quality of human life (in Russia, the definition is given by the “Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation”) .
The urban environment forms the attitude of a person to the city and the management system.
The urban environment consists of many elements, including biological and natural ones, but in this paper only factors and objects that arise as a result of human actions are considered. The result of this work is expected to improve the quality of objects, and, as a result, improve the quality of the urban environment.
ELEMENTS OF THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERED (OBJECT OF WORK):
- The architecture of the city, which includes not only historical, iconic and dominant buildings, but also ordinary ordinary buildings;
- A plan of the city, which is not visible to residents, but which forms urban planning and view axes, or in other words, perspectives and panoramas of the city. And the axes or perspectives of the city, in turn, are remembered in the memory of the inhabitants as an image, as the image of the city with its own identity;
- Streets and public spaces that create a public space for the communication of city residents;
- Street furniture that creates comfort for pedestrians;
- Pedestrian pavement materials, which have both practical and aesthetic functions, since their color and texture are involved in shaping the overall image of the city;
- A navigation system (addresses of houses, information stands, signs) and advertising on the facades of buildings, which, being convenient and understandable, forms an understandable and convenient urban environment, reduces uncertainty.
